That’s the only reason why they come to us. The pellets are corn, bran and molasses….so those tiny things that you get when you are here for breakfast. And the only reason why they come to us is because we feed them pellets. Tony Out of the 140 acres that we have here, they eat all the foliage apart from – it’s known as the trumpet flower, I don’t know what the biological name is, but that’s because that’s hallucinogenic – but everything else in the compound they will eat. Tony Ed, who’s the tallest giraffe, we reckon he is about 15 and a half, 16 feet tall, but he’s the dominant male and he’s about 10 1/2 years old. So can you tell us a bit about giraffes to start with? Do you know how tall are they roughly? Tony Did you get a kiss when you were here?įelice I did.

They’re very long, nearly half a metre I certainly wasn’t expecting that but then, of course, they’ve got to deal with all those thorns. The biggest surprise for me was that their tongues are blue and feel really rough. After eight years here, there’s not much he doesn’t know about these extraordinary creatures.įelice Tony, welcome to Action Packed Travel podcast. Peter We met up with Tony Levi, the hotel’s Assistant General Manager. Giraffes are so gorgeous with their long eyelashes and beautiful colouring. I’ve travelled a lot over the years, but for me, Giraffe Manor is one of my most vivid memories – even more so than going on a safari where you don’t actually get to touch any of the animals. At certain times a day, giraffes are everywhere with heads popping up on balconies and at the breakfast table, helping themselves to your toast and cornflakes. We’re not in Oxfordshire we’re in Kenya at Giraffe Manor on the outskirts of Nairobi.įelice It’s been dubbed the most Instagrammed hotel in the world and I can see why. And wait, what’s that poking its head through my bedroom window…a giraffe? Am I dreaming? Nope. But once away from the manicured lawns, you might be forgiven for guessing the trees and general terrain are not actually to be found in the Cotswolds, but somewhere considerably more exotic. At first sight it looks remarkably like a classic English country hotel, a mellow brick 1930s house with ivy-clad walls set in landscaped gardens at the heart of 140 acres of rolling countryside. Peter This week, we’re at one of the world’s most unusual and fascinating places to stay. Peter Welcome to our travel podcast, we’re specialist travel writers and we’ve spent half a lifetime exploring every corner of the world.įelice We want to share with you some of our extraordinary experiences and the amazing people we’ve met along the way. So the biggest issues seem to be that we're not tracing here for some reason, and that GetGlobalName is hitting up the class getters on the window.Tony, Assistant General Manager at Giraffe Manor The eval version, on the other hand, is (and keep in mind that these are percentages of a bigger number now):Ģ1% stubs::GetGlobalName (complete with calling XPC_WN_Helper_GetProperty andĢ0% stubs::SetElem (half itself, half obj_setProperty on typed arrays) The non-eval one has 22k samples.Ĭomparing the two profiles, the non-eval version spends (all percentages are of JS time): Profiling, it looks like in 5 secs runtime the eval version has 34k samples under nsGlobalWindow::RunTimeout. Google Chrome's Javascript engine don't suffer any performance loss with packed Javascript.
SAFARI 10.1.2 VERY SLOW CODE
JaegerMonkey is expected to behave with same performance on packed Javascript code than with the same Javascript code unpacked. Javascript code packed with popular JS packers performs very poorly on JaegerMonkey. With the same JS code but unminified, it runs at 75+fps with Minefield on Results: To minify & obfuscate cpcbox, I used Javascript utility v2:ģ.

Under Opera, there is some small impact (around 20% slower for the minified version). That issue is not found under Chrome, performance is equal on both the unminified and minified versions. That underlines a big issue with JaegerMonkey which is that those popular Javascript minifiers/obfuscators impact performance big time (ie: 500% slower on cpcbox when minified). On that non minified version, I run around 75fps on the same setup! I tested it on the latest Minefield build, and as you can see performance is not so great (less than 15fps on a pre-production version of cpcbox, which happens to be exactly the same as the one in, except that the javascript has not been minified & obfuscated has completely different performance! I am the author of an Amstrad CPC 8-bit computer emulator, entirely written in Javascript.
